One of the most bothersome kinds of pain that you may feel is ankle pain. When you feel an aching sensation in your ankle, standing up and walking can intensify the pain.

Ankle pain can be caused by many factors. These include arthritis, injury, and normal wear and tear. This kind of pain is characterized by stiffness and maybe some swelling around the ankle. I was struggling with plantar fasciitis for a while but never did anything as I thought it was temporary and would go away naturally. It got worse eventually and so I was introduced to East Coast Podiatry and my podiatrist, Ms Chantelle Crossland. She was patient and caring throughout my course of treatment and always checked to see if I was comfortable. The shockwave therapy sessions were quick and really didn’t hurt much. Chantelle also gave great tips and made sure I was stretching my calves regularly to prevent my condition from worsening.

It’s been about half a year since my treatment ended and I can gladly say that my plantar fasciitis has been cured and I haven’t had any relapse since.

I just want to end this off by saying a huge thank you to Chantelle and the team. It was a very pleasant experience!

I had really bad knee pain that was worsened by my job as a chef as I need be on my feet for about 12 – 16 hours every day. I was introduced to East Coast Podiatry by my boss, and I am very satisfied with the standard of care.

They were very professional and knowledgeable about my problems, and I felt very safe from the very first checkup. I’m also glad that they use non-invasive methods of treatment because I consulted a doctor previously and they wanted me to go straight for an MRI and knee surgery.

My treatment consisted of EMTT and shockwave sessions, and muscle strengthening exercises. I’ve really noticed a difference as my knee was extremely painful before the first appointment, but after the treatment and exercises, it doesn’t hurt anymore when I continue doing the same activities I used to.

My podiatrist Millicent Brown has been very patient in explaining the details of treatment to me and was very understanding and helpful throughout the process. The team has also given me a lot of tips on improving function and strength in my knee and also in the lower limbs overall. I like that they take the time to listen to me and perform such in-depth assessments. It is definitely an investment in your health.

I had a great experience here and I would definitely recommend East Coast Podiatry to anyone who is having problems in their lower legs.

I recommend this to my fellow chefs and people suffering from lower limb issues.

Had my first visit at OHC few days ago. Vanessa was very down to earth and easy to speak with. The entire session was very comfortable and light-hearted. I learnt so much about my body (& my poor habits :p). Vanessa was quick to point out what she has observed from my movements & shared simple exercises & breathing patterns for me to work on. I’m so glad I’ve finally decided to make a visit & received professional advice. It was an absolutely wonderful experience!

Conclusion

Generally, ankle pain goes away with enough rest, cold compression, and over-the-counter pain medicines. Plus, it doesn’t always require surgery. However, if you leave the pain untreated and your condition gets worse, the problem may not improve with nonsurgical treatments. This means that you might need to undergo surgery to treat your ankle pain. To know how best to deal with ankle pain, be sure to visit a pain treatment centre right away.
